Our Story
It all began in 2018, when fate — and a little bit of Bumble geography — brought us together. Trav had a habit of “cheating the system” by venturing into the city to swipe, which, luckily for both of us, placed him squarely within Sophie’s 5km radius.
Our first date was at SouthPress in South Yarra, an evening filled with mussels, Brussels, and endless rounds of Hendrick’s on ice. Trav says he knew Soph was the one within the first ten minutes of meeting her; Soph, ever the pragmatist, needed a few more dates to be sure 😉. It was during a ten-day holiday in Dubai, away from the whirlwind of their two-week romance, that Sophie realised Trav was in it for the long haul — and worth hanging up her Bumble boots for.
From there, life unfolded in a beautiful blur of travel and adventure — trips to Brisbane, Bali, Hawaii and Los Angeles — and, in 2019, some very special baby news.
In 2020, just six weeks before Melbourne’s first lockdown, our little “butter chicken,” Mia, arrived and made our world infinitely brighter. A few months later, between lockdowns and after several cancelled plans, Trav took Sophie and Mia to one of her favourite places — St Andrews Beach — under the guise that Mia had never dipped her toes in the sand. There, quoting the inimitable Fabolous, he proposed to Sophie (and Mia) with his great-great-grandmother’s diamond.
In March 2021, our second little light, Andie — affectionately known as “Bang Bang” — joined the family, bringing joy, sass and endless laughter. Since then, our adventures have continued: family holidays to Bali and Brisbane, romantic escapes to Tasmania and Japan, and a move from our city pad to the suburbs — a transition made all the more rewarding by the wonderful community we’ve found along the way.
Now, seven years on, with two beautiful daughters by our side and so many cherished memories behind us, we’re ready to celebrate the incredible journey we’ve shared — and the life still unfolding ahead.
We can’t wait to mark this moment the best way we know how — with an unforgettable night of dinner, dancing until our feet hurt, and the people we love most.
